The past month and a half has been spent solely on implementing state machines for the player and guard. This is unfortunately somthing I should’ve spent more time reading up on when I first started this game, as going back to implement it everywhere has been a major pain. It also means that just about every other system in the game is going to be affected by this, so this will most likely be a gradual implementation spread out over the course of several new demo releases. However, this has also been a good learning experience for Git and understanding how different branches should be structured (separate branches for release, development, feature and hotfix).
I’ve been quiet for longer than usual since this is taking up a lot of my time and I’ve really had to maintain my focus because of how many different systems this is affecting and how they’re all tied together.
With that being said, Conflict of Interest will still be participating in the Love, Romance and Heartbreak Debutante Ball Steam festival which starts this Friday, February 13 and runs through February 20. A new trailer for Conflict of Interest will also be included as part of their direct showcase, and several content creators have been contacted to showcase the game on their channels. I would like to have a new demo build ready before or during the festival (specifically focusing on guard AI), but no promises.
I’d like to thank each of you that have been following and playing the game to this point. It really means a lot to me and is a huge motivator to getting things done.
