Devlog 57: Cutting

The last month has, once again, been spent on fixing several systems and updating existing levels. The biggest changes come from changing the layout of the trainyard level and moving UI elements around to save on space and make it more cohesive.

With that being said, the target release date for the demo update will be by the end of December. However, since there is still a large amount of refactoring and fixes to be done, the length and content of the demo will be greatly shortened.

This was the largest mistake I’ve made since the demo encompasses about 25% of the entire game, when in reality it should only be enough to give the player a general idea of how the game plays so they can decide if they’d be interested in the full game. Since the current demo is so long and contains so many variables, I’ll be cutting it down to approximately two in-game days, a night mission, and a date. This will allow me to create a working vertical slice, while giving me more time to work on the rest of the game.

I’d like to thank everyone who’s stuck around for this long, and I hope you stay around long enough to play the full version.
